Our beautiful new venue at The Lighthouse, just 2 miles from the centre of Frome, is set in 30 acres of rolling Somerset countryside. The only sounds you'll hear are birdsong, the rustle of leaves in ancient oaks ~ and, of course, the tappity-tap of keyboards, scritch-scratch of pens and contented sighs as everyone writes pages and pages of lovely words.
We write in the light and airy Coach House. There's parking in the courtyard, a
kitchen area for all-day tea, coffee and cakes ~ as well as a cafe if you want to treat yourself at lunchtime. The woods, fields and lake are ours to explore.
You may not want to go home.
Frome, for those of you not from these parts, is a quirky Somerset market town, full of winding alleys, art galleries and great places to eat and drink
In 2017, Frome was named Best Place to Live in the South West by The Sunday Times, and voted Best Town in the UK at the 2016 Urbanism Awards. So it's worth a visit. If you live a fair distance away, why not make a weekend of it ~ sightsee on Saturday, write at TWD on Sunday? There's a good train service from London, Weymouth and Bristol. And if you're coming by car, then Bath and Longleat are only a few miles away. Try The Lighthouse 4* B&B or AirBnB for somewhere local to stay.
